Submissions of Work

Seahorse Publishing and our sister company Crabtree Publishing periodically look for submissions of fiction and nonfiction children’s books. We enjoy supporting independent authors and Illustrators. The type of works we look for include picture books, board books, beginning readers, chapter books, core curriculum, and hi-lo books.

We currently only accept email submissions for consideration. Send submissions to submission@seahorsepub.com.

Authors Submission should include:

• “Author Submission for Consideration” in subject line
• Manuscript attached as a word document
• Email to include
  • Your full name
  • Pen name(s)
  • Address
  • Previous writing work
  • Word Count
  • Summary of your manuscript

Illustrator Submission should include:

• “Illustrator Submission for Consideration” in subject line
• Link to your portfolio
• Email to include
  • Your full name
  • Pen name(s)
  • Address
  • Previous work
  • Summary of your art style

We receive a large number of submissions. Therefore, we are unable to respond to every submission. We do make every effort to consider each submission we receive. If we are interested in your work, we will contact you within four months of submission. When a submission is sent, we assume no obligation not to publish a book based on a similar concept to the submission.
